Tunisian cuisine is a blend of Arabic, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and French cuisine.
Like all countries in the Mediterranean Tunisia offers a Sun Cuisine. Dishes are cooked with olive oil, tomatoes, seafood and meat, primarily lamb, which are spiced with aniseed, coriander, cumin, caraway or saffron.
Harissa, “Tunisia’s National Condiment” is a hot chili/pepper paste, made from roasted red peppers, hot chili peppers, garlic and spices and herbs.
Couscous is Tunisia’s most famous dish. We only use Couscous from Tunisia which is characterized by having finer grains than either Algerian or Moroccan Couscous. Choose either Vegetable Couscous, Fish or Lamb Couscous cooked the traditional Tunisian way. (Pre order only)
